Our
Services
Mālama Ola Health Services provides compassionate care for individuals facing a serious illness. Our team is available to provide comfort, dignity, and peace of mind—for both you and your family, every step of your healthcare journey.
Hospice Care
Your Customized Care Plan
Hospice care is designed for individuals with a life-limiting illness who want to make the best of their life. Our team focuses on providing the best quality of life— offering comfort, easing pain, and providing emotional and spiritual support.
  • Our Patient Advocate will walk you through our services and answer any questions you have.
  • Care is delivered wherever you call home—whether it's your own home, assisted living, nursing facility, or group home.
  • We provide all necessary medications, medical equipment, and supplies directly to your home.
  • Our interdisciplinary team will create a personalized care plan that reflects your goals and values.
  • Your care is overseen by a board-certified hospice physician and, if you choose, your personal doctor.
  •
Coverage You Can Count On
Hospice care is covered 100% by Medicare, Hawai‘i Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. There are no co-pays for our services. Some health plans also cover hospice services while you also seek curative treatment. For individuals without insurance, our charitable foundation can help cover the cost of care.
Palliative Care
Relief and Support at Any Stage
Palliative care provides relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness—at any stage, alongside curative treatment and to prevent the need for hospitalizations. It’s about improving comfort, helping you better understand your options, and supporting you and your family throughout your healthcare journey.
  • Ideal for individuals navigating chronic or complex conditions like heart failure, cancer, or lung disease.
  • Our team works in collaboration with your existing medical providers to help manage symptoms, pain, and side effects.
  • Services are personalized to your needs and may include emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial support.
  • You do not need to be in the final stages of illness to receive palliative care.
Special Programs Available
We partner with Medicare, HMSA, UHA, and the VA to offer supportive services even if you’re still receiving treatment. Call Mālama Ola to learn how palliative care can fit into your existing plan of care.

I felt really lost throughout the death and dying process with my mom. Every member of Mālama Ola's staff I worked with were kind, caring, and patient, and helped to guide our family through the final days. They will be my first call if I ever have to go through this again, and I hope they can help you, too.

Navigating the idea of hospice was very difficult, especially when the hospital urged us to select a company. We did our due diligence and interviewed several organizations on the island. Ultimately, we decided to go with Mālama Ola based on their quick response, willingness to answer questions before signing anything, and unique approach to hospice care.
