Make Moments Matter -
Become a Hospice Volunteer
Time is one of the most precious gifts we have. While we can’t add more hours to someone’s life, we can help fill those hours with connection, comfort, and care. That’s where you come in
At Mālama Ola Health Services, volunteers are a valued part of our hospice care team. We’re always looking for compassionate individuals with a heart for service to support our patients, their loved ones, and caregivers. Whether you have a few hours to spare or a special talent to share, your time can make a lasting impact.
  • In-person companionship – Offer a listening ear and friendly presence
  • Art or music at the bedside – Share creativity and comfort through the arts
  • Respite care – Provide short-term relief for caregivers
  • Pet therapy – Bring joy with the healing presence of a furry friend
  • Veteran-to-veteran support – Connect through shared military experience
If you're interested in volunteering with Mālama Ola, please complete the form below. Once submitted, our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch to explore opportunities that match your interests and availability.
Honoring Those Who Served

we-honor-veteransAs a proud partner in the We Honor Veterans program, Mālama Ola is deeply committed to recognizing the unique needs of those who have served in the military. Our veteran-to-veteran volunteer program pairs veteran volunteers with veteran patients to offer companionship, understanding, and meaningful connection through shared experiences. It’s a powerful way to ensure that no veteran is forgotten and that each one is honored at the end of life with dignity and respect.

We had such a warm experience during such an emotional fragile time. Every aspect of our hospice journey was handled with so much care.

Navigating the idea of hospice was very difficult, especially when the hospital urged us to select a company. We did our due diligence and interviewed several organizations on the island. Ultimately, we decided to go with Mālama Ola based on their quick response, willingness to answer questions before signing anything, and unique approach to hospice care.

I felt really lost throughout the death and dying process with my mom. Every member of Mālama Ola's staff I worked with were kind, caring, and patient, and helped to guide our family through the final days. They will be my first call if I ever have to go through this again, and I hope they can help you, too.
